❃ Moor Mud Skin Therapy ❃

Moor Mud, officially named Heilmoor, is a deep black, richly organic therapeutic mud from the heart of Europe.  Unlike store-brand facial masks loaded with toxic chemicals and allergy causing fragrances; moor mud contains 97% botanicals, herbs, vitamins, minerals, humic and fulvic acids, natural antibiotics and fatty acids.

My first experience using Moor Mud came as a surprising coincidence.  On a European couple's retreat a few years back, my husband and I reserved a hotel that was catty-corner to this very chic health spa.  Since our vacation package included a spa treatment, we thought, what the heck, let's put an end to our jet-lagged butts and skip on over to this spa and get spoiled rotten.  Which is exactly what we did.

Fifty minutes later and more relaxed than ever, thanks to our massage, we had one last stop to make - The Famous Mud Room - where a tub filled with ancient mineral-rich black mud was awaiting us.  The quiet and serene atmosphere of this place was unbelievable, coupled with the faint sound of classical music in the background, I thought for sure we'd fall asleep face down in this mud bath, but we didn't (What a Kodak moment that would have been).  Instead, we enjoyed our ambiance and our much needed and very much appreciated black mud total body treatment.

What was it like?  Well, as you climb into this tub of goop, your entire body slowly starts to heat up, as the mud and your skin come into contact with one another, your pores open and the medicinal wonders of the mud begin to work.  Every crevice of your body succumbs to its goodness and you can't escape it, but then again, who would want too?   It was the perfect way to begin our vacation and the perfect way to end the day.  We both felt out-of-this-world fantastic.  To say we were relaxed, was an under statement.  It was that and so much more because that night, we both slept like a couple of well-pampered babies, all thanks to The Mud Room.  The release of toxins had my skin glowing and I felt rejuvenated like no other spa treatment ever was able to make me feel.

This stuff is incredible and I was so thrilled to be able to get back to the states and order jars of it for friends, family and lots and lots for me and my hubby.  Moor Mud is considered legendary for it's therapeutic powers, and has been used for centuries by the Romans and Egyptians to obtain glamorous looking skin.  But since that time, Moor Mud has evolved immensely into what it is today, and has been greatly adored by even celebrities.

Mood Mud is used for: aching muscles, improving circulation, sore joints, acne, eczema, psoriasis, regulates PH balance, calms inflammation, reduces cellulite, and restores vitality and suppleness back to the skin.  It contains over 1,000 herbs, flowers, and grasses.

As much as I adore a finely applied mask of moor mud, I also love using Moor mud as a cleanser as with this Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm.

Cleaning and/or masking with moor mud does a superb job at healing blemishes and scars.  The abundance of magnesium and calcium in this muddy cleanser cleans, detoxes and nourishes the skin while removing all traces of make-up.  Pores are cleaner and skin is softer.  Over time blemishes diminish and scars disappear.

It smells of sweet almond oil and orange blossom, just a couple of the amazing essential oils added to this beautiful mud cleansing balm.   I just love it!

So as they say in the fashion industry, "Black is always in style."  and Moor Mud is definitely the most stylist of all.
