Everything and then some.....
There are numerous reasons to fall in love with activated charcoal, but the main reason for me is - CLEAR SKIN! My love for this substance has been a long time in the making, and nothing I mean nothing about it is a disappointment - this baby delivers every single time. I've used charcoal soap for many years and now my affection for it has only deepened since I found Shamanuti's Activated Charcoal Cleanser.
In preparation for my sister's wedding last month, my skin went through an awful amount of stress. I was breaking out left and right from lack of sleep, traveling to and from the east coast and not hydrating enough. I was getting caught up in my duties as maid of honor and the health of my skin was sub-par . So I reached for this cleanser knowing that in the past I always had such tremendously positive results with charcoal and once again, it worked like a charm.
Charcoal is known as "the magnet" for its ability to absorb toxins, poisons, chemicals and heavy metals. So because it can do this so well, why not trust it to your skin? I'll help reduce acne and other skin impurities every time you wash. It gets into those pores and zaps zits away plus removes makeup. It neutralizes acidity, detoxifies and restores PH balance too, how amazing is that?
This cleanser is so versatile that I can use it to cleanse and exfoliate my face and then kick it up a notch by using it a gentle shaving cream and body wash. Oh The Joy! The lovely and powerful charcoal in this cleanser is accompanied by a few extras like sugar maple extract to slough off dead skin cells (Whoa Nelly!) and lavender and chamomile to reduce redness and inflammation as well as a whole host of wonderful organic ingredients to freshen up the skin and leave it clean, pure and so beautiful to look at it.
I use it the morning and at night, massaging into my skin and leaving it on for a few minutes as to let the cleanser set and work its magic. The cleanser is a bit like a gel but foams up as you work it into your skin, after a few minutes of washing you can either wipe your face with a wash cloth or wash your face with cold water to close pores (my preferred method). Then moisturize and off you go.....
