Calling All Coconut Lovers

You can spoon it, sip it, simmer it or spread it.  That's right babes, I'm talking ALL about coconuts.  I have yet to meet one person who isn't madly in love with coconuts as I am - unless they're just totally nuts.  These little buggers are packed with a treasure of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and amino acids.  Sure, they may be a tough sucker to crack, but once you do watch out - they offer oodles & oodles of health promoting benefits.

Coconuts are hailed as being the "healing fruit" for curing illness, keeping the immunity strong, aiding in digestion and having anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic abilities.  But I've only just cracked the surface (pun intended) coconuts have been known to treat things like influenza, diabetes, lice, throat infections, urinary tract infections, herpes, tapeworms and a whole host of other afflictions caused by pathogens.

One of the things I love most about coconuts is the coconut oil, use it for just about anything - keep it on hand and you'll see just why it's becoming such a vital part of everyone's life.  Here are 10 reasons why coconut oil rocks...
1.  Neutralizes Morning Breath - Take a tablespoon full of coconut oil, add a few drops of thieves essential oil (excellent for killing bacteria and reducing swelling of inflamed gums) and swish it around your mouth for 15-20 minutes in the morning before brushing.  This little maneuver works to clean your mouth, freshen breath and remove toxins because what you are doing is known as the oil pulling method, do it frequently and you'll see amazing results that will even surprise your dentist.
2.  DIY Body Scrub - Make your own body scrub by mixing some sea salt, coconut oil and a few squirts or drops of sea buckthorn oil or any other oil you prefer, and it instantly becomes your very own homemade dead skin remover.  Your skin will become so baby soft and smooth that you'll be ready for some snuggle time with your significant other!
3.  Skin Calmer - Slather on some coconut oil to ease skin irritation like right after shaving or right after a sunburn, or to soothe a cut; it works great and will have you feeling relaxed and uplifted within minutes.
4.  Dry Hair Mender - I've tried putting coconut oil on my entire head but it leaves my hair very oily.  What I found actually works in just mixing a little coconut oil in with my favorite organic hair conditioner and putting some on my ends for at least 5 minutes while I'm showering.  It will turn dry ends into soft tresses - do this once a week and you'll be doing a double take in your mirror.
5.  Coconut Coffee - Coffee can be very acidic and if you love drinking it everyday then the best way to ensure that it's not wrecking havoc on your health is by kicking into a new dimension by adding in some clarified butter such a Ghee and some coconut oil.  Boy oh boy, yummy yummy! It tastes way better and is a lot easier on your digestion system.  Being healthy takes effort...so make the effort and your body will thank you.

6.  Breast Massage Oil - Since coconut oil has such a light scent compared to other much heavier oils, it makes for an excellent moisturizer around the breast and nipple area.  Massaging the breasts has many benefits such as helping to prevent sagging and helping them maintain their shape, as well as therapeutic and preventive benefits.  Since coconut oil helps balance hormones, it would make sense to add it to your massage routine.
7.  Face Serum - Using a bit of coconut oil on your face soon after cleansing and toning can help soften and do away with dry hard skin conditions.  It will gradually help heal acne because it's natural and contains no harmful chemicals.  After a while you'll notice your skin looking more even, radiant and super healthy - yes, even without makeup!
8.  Personal Lube for your Va-jay-jay - Hormone imbalances can sometimes cause vaginal dryness, I know it's an embarrassing topic to discuss but it has to be said.  Using store-bought products down there is a total No-No; Check out the ingredient list and you'll see why - dyes, perfumes and colors are chemicals you don't want in your "happy zone" so try a natural alternative like coconut oil.  Coconut oil makes a for a great lubricant to soothe and moisturize the vaginal walls, plus due to its antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, it be lubricating while preventing yeast infections at the same time.  Kudos!
9.  A.M. & P.M. Liver Treat - I love treating my liver with kindness.  Your liver is one of the most important organs in your body and proper liver function is vital to for a healthy body.  What I love to do every morning before eating my first meal and every night, an hour before bed, is drink hot water with a squeeze a lemon juice and a teaspoon of coconut oil.  Its antimicrobial abilities help destroy microbes and minimize free radical formation in the liver.  Plus it makes for an extra delicious cup of hot lemon water.
10.  Natural Goo-Gone - Take a little coconut oil and add a little bit of baking soda to the mix and you have your very own goo-gone stubborn sticker remover.  Don't you just hate those stickers you can't remove without leaving traces of it behind, what an ugly mess - whether from the bottom of your new shoes, plastics or furniture, you can use this homemade remedy to remove them with ease!

Stay Healthy...
